We had a wonderful inter-sangha life release for Saga Dawa on June 7th. Several sanghas participated and we freed several hundred small creatures. It is traditional in Tibet to rescue small creatures like this because their survival is easy to establish and as each being is sentient their lives are all valuable. Thank you so much to all who participated ......
Wheel Turning Day Release: July 25th 2009 Osel Thegchog Ling: the California sangha did a sea life release!! Thank you to all of you for all your amazing efforts!

All in all we liberated roughly 5500 beings! Many people gave their Tong Len practice and everyone gave their prayers.... A huge thank you to the California Sangha, who makes life releases a regular part of their monthly activities! They do live fish releases or worm releases each month. if you live in the Bay area and want to help out more with this please contact Nina Shilling at ninashilling@msn.com for more info. Also a huge applaud to Robert Betonte for his dedicated research on what species of sea life are compatible with the Bay, and has only been freeing those creatures. He also has been hatching brine shrimp which are very tiny. At the last release they released about 700,000 of them!
California Sangha Release: December 5th 2009 We completed our rescuing lives practice in support of A*dzom Rinpoche's Amitabha drupchen. Seven sangha members participated in the practice and several other participated with donations. We were able to rescue over 2,000,000 newly hatched brine shrimp, more than 4,200 medium sized grass shrimp, and 30 bullhead fish. It was exciting to see some of the grass shrimp leaping from the buckets as they were lowered into the water. We dedicate the merit of this practice to the long life and well being of A*dzom Rinpoche, Jetsuma, all the sangha members, and all the beings in phenomenal existence. May auspiciousness flourish. ~Robert Betonte

Spring/Summer 2010 Currently several centers and Sangha are working together to send donations towards wildlife rehab and restoration efforts in the Gulf of Mexico area. This area is being quickly demolished by the huge and unstoppable oil spill from one of BP off shore oil drilling rigs~ There are hundreds of species of sea life native to these waters that are dying and in peril. Among these the animal that are most at risk are: several species of dolphins, porpoises and whales, 5 of the worlds 7 different species of sea turtle, the north Atlantic bluefin tuna, whale sharks, the brown pelican, the blue crab, oysters, beach nesting migratory birds like plovers and sand pipers, over 96 species of migratory song birds, reefs, Menhaden and marsh-dwelling fish, deep sea fish~ Some organizations that are helping to save wildlife in this area can be seen by visiting this link. Please lets add as much as we can to their efforts ~ Tai Vautier
